Hello! As a graduate-level counselor trainee, Vanessa is completing training under the supervision of licensed professionals. Before transitioning to counseling, Vanessa’s first career was supporting students as a classroom teacher. She holds a Master of Arts in School Counseling from Amberton University. In addition, she is a graduate intern student in the Mental Health Certificate program at Lamar University as she is obtaining the additional hours needed to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.
She will provide individual counseling, group counseling, marriage counseling, family counseling, career development counseling, education counseling, psychotherapy, and play therapy. Her approach is guided by Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical, and Person-Centered Therapy, which will help you work toward your goals.
Vanessa believes that having a strong therapeutic relationship is essential to the counseling process. She values your time together and is dedicated to walking alongside you with empathy and compassion. She strives to create an environment where you feel safe, heard, and cared for as you explore life issues and struggles. Her hope is that she is able to support you in the process of self-discovery so you can live a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
